Whats wrong with Netherlands? They were runners-up at world cup and have been steamrolling the qualification for World cup before that and are doing the same thing in the Euro 2012. I don't see how they are not supposed to be in the top 3.

Calm down, idiots, there's no bias, there's no conspiracy, it's done by a pre-determined formula, not Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini sat in a room somewhere enacting Machiavellian schemes to keep particular countries happy.

Euro 2008's influence has now diminished given that it was nearly 3 years ago, and so has the Copa America of 2007, giving England something of an advantage due to their excellent World Cup qualifying performance, 13th placed finish at the World Cup, and relatively good performances in the European Championship qualifiers. Don't worry, after the Copa America of 2011 things will change again and England will be back behind Brazil.

Because they're actually a rubbish team who are only doing well in qualifying... the exact reason why England are apparently so high. Don't be fooled by the world cup either, everyone was bad but the Netherlands were extremely lucky

I KNOW people on this forum have done a bit of research as to how the rankings work, and they STILL complain like little girls when the rankings come out. As long as the top 10 is reasonable by the time the WC seeds come out I'm not sweating it.

That's simply not accurate.

We recently beat the 10, 11, and 14 ranked teams. Also tied the 12
ranked team and lost 1-0 to the 15th ranked team all in the last year.
Yet we are still so low, ridiculous.

We tied the 1st, beat the 6th and the 15th.

To be fair Greece and Norway have no business all the way up there, Croatia is dodgy too, didn't even qualify for the World Cup!

Norway became good recently.. Top 20 for sure.

Greece would beat you 5-0, don't be so bitter

edit: I genuinly thin we got a better lineup than Greece. Greece only has central defenders over us, and not for long once we get Perquis capped.

I think the women's rankings are worse. How can you have a team ranked #1 just barely make the World Cup via a playoff round?? That makes no sense to me even though I am an American. Recent form means we should not still be ranked number 1.
