Picks a sport, picks a favourite, opponent wins. The odds still do not sit well with me

Re: Boxing
I'm not sure why there are so many articles out there saying Pacman is over the hill and should retire. That Mayweather would wipe the floor with him. He was leading that match on points till that knock out, nothing to suggest his pace is gone.

Fabulous fight by Kahn, great boxing. Hopefully he can build on this and rebuild his career.

Had money on round 1-3 and Khan could have knocked him out in that, then it went past and I put money on it going till the end because I knew Khan wouldn't knock him out.

Unlucky. Molina was tough as fuck though.
Kahn calling out Garcia.

Anyone seen some of Tyson Fury's tweets? Absolute tit. He's got an obsession with David Price even though he'd get flattened.

Just found this

I didn't think records like that existed, why would you keep fighting if you're basically just a punching bag.

Was nodding my head, thinking that this guy has a good head on his shoulder. Then I realized this was me.Guest wrote:Khan is the real deal.
He just has a bitch chin and he thinks he's J.C. Chavez but he's not. He wants to go up there and exchange against fighters but whenever he meets anyone with punching power he gets sat on his ass. You'd think Roach would tell the kid to jab and move.

Are there no Northern Irish here? Frampton beat Kiko Martinez to become the first world champion from Northern Ireland in like 18 years or something.
_____
Blast from the past, from 2010's fight of the year; Ivan Calderon vs Giovani Segura I.
Where science meets savagery.
Speed and technique vs aggression and pure unadulterated violence:

If you don't want to bother with the full fight:
This is what they mean when people say, : "kill the body and the head will die." Calederon just couldn't get up off his knee after that brutal assault from Segura.

Imagine paying thousands of dollars to watch two ethnic minorities hug it out for about half an hour.

Re: Boxing
I learned to expect that after watching Mayweather for his past few fights. Every time they hype it up as this will finally be the guy who'll knock him out, every time he just floats around and wins it on points. That's what I put my money on beforehand.

I don't really watch boxing, how the hell does that guy earn hundreds of millions for putting on such tedious performances? I could understand if it was like the Champions League where competition organisers put up prize money but why are people bidding so much for this? I've heard last night was one for the purists, but there would have to be millions of purists for it to be worth it.

He acts like a douche so that people tune in because they want to see him beaten. Also like I said it'll get hyped up like the other person has a chance. He's also exploits latino markets, he organizes his fights around Mexican holidays and tries to stir stuff up so they watch because they all love boxing. I mean they even did the Mexican national anthem before the fight to pander to that audience, found it pretty funny considering it was an American vs a Filipino.
If you're tuning in to see an exciting fight you're gonna have a bad time. It took me like 5 tries before I realized this.

Re: Boxing
If we go far back in this thread you'll probably find me saying that I wished this fight would never happen 'cause I knew everyone would be let down. People wasted a lot of money on this fight too, my cousin had a party at his crib, spent $100 on the fight alone, plus bought a shitload of meat to grill and beer to drink, and rented a bouncy house for the kids.
And yeah, boxing is really popular in Mexico, even female boxing bouts are major events in Mexico. Female boxing is actually pretty entertaining Juarez vs Togo II was a 100 times more entertaining that anything that went on last night.

This was the first time I ever watched an entire boxing match, not including the Rocky films. Don't think I'll be doing it again, thank you manlets.
