Russia is not sleeping anymore. They are awake and being aggressive little pitbulls in their side of the world. This airbase is important as it shows intention from the United States that they won't allow Russia to bully Poland or other EU nations.

@ SB: No, because as an American I have a more relevant opinion on Americans being stationed there. As a Polish person, he has a more relevant opinion on having a base established in his country. If the Polish leaders didn't think it was in the best interests of the Polish country and the Polish people, they wouldn't allow it to happen.

Europe has no military and the only countries with any real power in the EU are not directly threatened or simply don't care enough about Russia. IE, Italy and Germany recently making military and gas deals with Russia.
