    WARSAW, Poland — Poland and the United States have signed an agreement that will allow U.S. Air Force to station its troops and aircraft permanently in Poland.

    Poland’s Defense Minister Bogdan Klich and U.S. Ambassador Lee Feinstein signed the agreement on Monday.


    According to the memorandum, starting in 2013, a U.S. Air Force Aviation Detachment will be the first ever to be permanently stationed in Poland. It will provide support for U.S. F-16 fighters and C-130 transport aircraft.

    Poland, a NATO member since 1999, is a staunch U.S. ally.

    Great! Another base we don't need to help add to that compounding federal debt that doesn't seem to be high enough for our empty-suit politicians. Somebody explain this to me: the Cold War ended 20 years ago, so what the fuck are we protecting Europe from?

Sticking it to Russia is a retarded reason. We won the Cold War, no need to rub it in. We don't even really need NATO anymore. Russia is not a threat. At a time when we can't even afford the over-extended military we already have, the dickwads in Washington go ahead and add to the tab. This country is going bankrupt. China, get ready for your turn at the plate.

They've been forcing Belarus and Kazakhstan to form a union with them, are promoting civil war in Ukraine, Moldova and the Baltics, are the fuel in the Armenian-Azeri conflict, cutting off gas to Ukraine unless they pay some over the top fee for it, invaded Georgia and practically turned one of the most pro-western states in the middle east into a puppet state, regularly threaten Azerbajan and Uzbekistan as well. Lots of former commie states like Poland have regularly called up Russia on it's aggresiveness only to be ignored by the rest of the Western world. (And it of course ended with the Polish President plane crash. Dry Smile )

    Russia is not sleeping anymore. They are awake and being aggressive little pitbulls in their side of the world. This airbase is important as it shows intention from the United States that they won't allow Russia to bully Poland or other EU nations.
