Hughton is suggested for every job, not exactly a surprise that he is linked with this one.

Re: McLeish Quits Blues
We have been linked with: Cotterill, Zola, Di Matteo, Hughton & Curbishly.
Out of those names i would want Zola, Di Matteo or Hughton as 2 of them have taken teams out of the Championship and all 3 play attacking football which is something i havent been able to witness over the last few years...my neck is still recovering from all the route 1 ive had to watch.

Would be good to see Hughton back in a job, I'm still pissed Newcastle sacked him
Couldn't really be a bigger difference in the style of football you'd watch from McLeish to Bobby Di Matteo

I couldnt believe how Newcastle treated him either, was a joke they just ditched him.
& it's one extreme to the other, if we keep some of McLeish's defence eg Davies, Ridgewell, Carr and added Di Matteos attacking players, we should walk that league...but then again we are Birmingham so maybe not

Like you say, I believe that you'll get auto promotion if you can hang on to most of your defence, it's what made you a successful team in the your first season back up. I doubt Ferguson will go either and if you can keep Gardner it would be a huge boost.
With a fit McFadden paired with Marlon King, you should easily get back up.

Yh hopefully the likes of Gardner etc will stay. The only problem with the Blues is that they love to give their fans stress, anger etc. Hopefully next season will completely different & hopefully you lot finally get promoted as well

Problem is, I bet you have a massive wage bill, and with less TV money, you'll struggle to keep up with paying the wages.
You could either sell and finish midtable, giving you time to rebuild.
Or keep your players, risk your finances, and get auto.

Our highest earners have all left: Hleb, Martins, Bentley. Only Zigic remains and he is likely to return to Spain.
The remaining players from our Prem line-up aren't on huge wages to be honest, even the likes of Johnson, Foster & Dann. These 3 will only leave if big clubs come in and we get offered the right money. I'll be surprised if too many more leave us to be honest.
& love you too Cov

Birmingham should go for Billy Davies, he was favourite yesterday too. Better than Cotterill

Re: McLeish Quits Blues
Jela - for once it's them paying us, im fed up of the Blues giving the Villa money for players
Forest - I'd prefer Hughton or Di Matteo over Davis. Most people ive spoken to are the same. Although if he does join i'll back him.
