If anyone makes player v player threads we can just look them up and whoevers value is highest wins?

I use it to find out whose contract expires that year.

A player has no inherit value, only what someone is willing to pay which can only be determined when they actually get transferred.

It's just a rough estimation based on certain variables. Not to be taken as concrete fact.

transfermarkt only shows player value. not sale value

so things like AGE take into account too

but things like contract length, buy out clauses, etc don't take into account in transfermarkt. otherwise, players like gera would be worth €0 and nuri sahin wouldn't be worth

it's a good reference website though. used to be german only

probably the one i've visited most over the past few years, along with offside, zonalmarking, livescore, sportinglife, and wikipedia

the best feature of transfermarkt is you can "kind of" track player form. there are red and green arrows next to the player values, indicating whether they increased/decreased in value recently. there's also a graph too which is pretty neat. look at john arne riise's graph for example. he dipped in form after 07, then shot right back up last season. useful for presenting arguments to ppl on this forum

Surprisingly accurate when it comes to Polish players I remember.

Though there are some ridiculous things like how some complete flops in the Polish league cost 1m whilst top class players cost like 400-500k.
