That stat doesn't prove anything. He may well be the better dribble but that stat doesn't account for succesful dribbles.chiboygeorge wrote:Thnaks for that stat.grenade187 wrote:luke. wrote:chiboygeorge wrote:Charles is a better dribbler, finisher and has better vision. You serious?
N'Zogbia = 299 dribbles this season. More than twice of any other EPL player.

Re: Charles N'Zogbia vs Ashley Young
I just said thanks for the stat because I didn't know Charles had that many dribbles in the PL, either way...he has a better dribbling style and variety compared to Young who usually just tries to knock on and beat a defenderFanatic wrote:That stat doesn't prove anything. Charles.
Unfortunately Wigan will probably not be able to keep him.

I used to think of Young as overrated following that large transfer fee, but he came good and has more than justified that price. Class winger.
Funny that not too long before he went to Newcastle he wanted to join us, even went so far as mentioning it in the press.Steadman wrote:N'Zogbia, always said i'd have him at Arsenal if the offer was there.

I wouldn't say that £10m was a massive fee. He always had the potential to step it up, and unlike some youngsters who are plucked out of the lower leagues without much experience, Young had already played about 100 games for us...and had a good 1/2 season with us in the Premierleague.

Re: Charles N'Zogbia vs Ashley Young
Probably the worst part of Young's game is his delivery.
He can put in good crosses...but as was obvious in the England game he was hitting a lot that went past the whole box....
Yet he still manages to create so many chances for himself and others....

Thanks Stead, Young at 18 successful dribbles compared to Charles' 109...Steadman wrote:

Stats don't prove much though... We've had this argument before, you disagreed with stats before, when you tried to say Chelsea were vulnerable from crosses, yet had conceded the least goals from crosses in the league.

Don't be thick though...18 success dribbles to 109...that is so significant that if you argue it you are just being stubborn and idiotic.luke. wrote:Stats don't prove much though... Yeah, but there's a lot of factors coming into it. Teams may have marked Young with multiple players because he's a known thread, while others pay less attention to N'Zogbia, also style of play, also that Young wasn't played on the wing much for Villa, he was mainly through the centre, which of course is going to be hard to dribble through, unless you're Messi, and that Young was also Villa's 'playmaker' so to speak, so he couldn't go off on a 1 man dribble, and then there's the fact that Aston Villa have much better players then Wigan, and don't have to rely on one man.
Statistics barely prove a thing.

Re: Charles N'Zogbia vs Ashley Young
NZogbia played middle for Wigan also as well as him being their playmaker lol. How can defenders not pay attention to NZogbia when they play Wigan? I'm sure when opponent manager go through their tactics that NZogbia will be the 1st danger man that would be told to watch as he's their best player. I don't see why you are trying to defend the undefendable..I never used stats in the beggining because I seen both play alot and know for sure that Charles can dribble much much better than Young. Even from the middle, 18-109 is quite a huge gap considered Charles played from middle sometimes as well.luke. wrote:chiboygeorge wrote:Don't be thick though...18 success dribbles to 109...that is so significant that if you argue it you are just being stubborn and idiotic.luke. wrote:Stats don't prove much though... Nogbia does have his fair share of disappearing acts and can be greedy at times, but overall he is much better than Young.

Re: Charles N'Zogbia vs Ashley Young
Not even close these days. N'zogbia is twice the player of young and doesn't get his goals via the penalty spot.
Plus young has gone from pacy winger to slow no10 whereas N'zogbia is doing a tribute act to John Barnes.

Chiboy you are wrong, Nzogbia players on the wing and has done most of the season. Fact is Nzogbia is too inconsistent.
If we are going to be honest though, these 2 players compliment each other in the sense one is much better at creating things, the other can score.
Young - Berbatov - Nzogbia
Someone should get that front line sorted, would win the league.

Re: Charles N'Zogbia vs Ashley Young
Since when did N'Zogbia begin to play in behind the striker as someone has just said.
Hasn't he been playing out on the wing this season for Wigan like he always has done and always probably will do.

Think he played a few games behind the striker during the season. Although he pretty much has a free role so it depends on how you perceive it.
