Ferdinand isn't close to what he was, nor Vidic, nor Giggs, and this isn't 2005, there's no Cristiano Ronaldo in the line-up, there's no young Rooney, Rooney is more analogous to van Nistelrooy, there's no old head like Scholes who is going to come back and dominate a season like he did in 2006/07, the closest analogue to him in the 05/11 comparison would be Carrick or Fletcher, neither of whom have anything like the class of Scholes. The 2005 side had a lot of top class players in it who were just about to burst onto the scene like shooting stars, and some fantastic older players who had been suffering from injuries, and in the case of Keane, were about to leave.

Where is the improvement going to come from? How do we get back to the top of the mountain without changing the manager, and without bringing in any top class players?

out of that list hargreaves, saha, brown, oshea, VDS have nothing to do with fergie. any manager with sense would get rid of them. oshea was shit, brown was injury prone, so was saha, hargreaves. VDS, scholes retired.. and tevez went after the money, we offered tevez a contract

we have got proof here how fickle you are, when we start dominating with fergie you will be back to "never doubted him". this squad we have is extremely young, younger then 2005. they need time, this CL knockout was a lesson in their progression it happens. they will learn from it like ronaldo and rooney did, remember they didnt score in the CL for ages (after rooneys debut hattrick)

the only true loss is Ronaldo and we couldnt do anything about that, he wanted to go to madrid and why keep an unhappy player. "without bringing in any top class players?"... ahm correct me if i am wrong but there is a transfer window every summer fergie probably tried for a few players but failed (man utd thread you said this is his fault.. you ignorant fool, fergie picks the players and other people try to sign them, fergie isnt involved in negotiations until the last stage which is how it is supposed to be) as i said i have no problem with giving players a chance like anderson and cleverley, if you never give them a chance you cant know how good or bad they will be and anderson/cleverley started the season superbly before injury.
