Fifa by many lengths, i don't trust players and would prefer if coaches were using joy-pads in real life as well.

FIFA easily. I'd be able to live without FM, it usually gets boring quickly, but not FIFA.

Re: Fifa or Football Manager?
FIFA all day. Football Manager is slow, complex and takes ages to get into to. As Royal said, could easily live without it. Few games of FIFA Sunday morning when you wake up with a hangover. And also, you can play with your mates etc... more social, can't go round with half a create of bud for a FM night can you? And just generally I'd rather play the football, than watch it.
And let's be honest, if JelAA can play it, then it can't be that realistic can it? He'd be out after the first day if it was.

Football Manager easily for me, FIFA I don't know just don't enjoy it as much and could probably live without it, but FM it's my drug of choice if I don't get my fix I go all crazy.

Re: Fifa or Football Manager?
FIFA on a console is great. FM is better while you're doing other stuff on the computer. The gameplay in FIFA really can't be beaten, but the same can be said about the tactics on FM.

Re: Fifa or Football Manager?
gameplay in FIFA is fucking terrible in terms of realism - needs a shit load of work, the only reason it's fun is because you're playing football.

Re: Fifa or Football Manager?
fifa's for kids
you can't even tweak your formation and player instructions mid-game without creating a whole new formation
now THAT is
say the default/custom formation on fifa has your right back on defensive mentality with a backwards arrow. once you sub on a more attacking right back, what are you gonna do? what if you want to take off a winger and sub on an inside forward? in this aspect, fifa is really limited when it comes to match tactics
the only saving grace for fifa11 used to be the keeper AI, but now with jenkey's patch for PES, it totally blows fifa away
