Never works like that. Once you get there the prices don't go down much, ask Leeds.

It is good to see someone has some values and feels for the common man. If I had an empty spot on a board for an important organization I would put this guy on my board.

And then subsequently watch your important organization go bankrupt.

It's called the market. It's called supply and demand. It's called business. This isn't a charity organization.

But... Like has been said, 2 other bigger Premier League sides on their doorstep and QPR are now charging one of these prices in the Premier League despite only just getting back there...

Add to the fact their refusal to spend much money and it just looks stupid.

Yes football clubs are businesses, but that doesn't mean they should sacrifice the clubs proper needs in order to make as much money for them as possible (which wont go back into the club).

It's about not shittin on your own door step! Clubs should care about fans not try and squeeze every penny out of them without the fans the clubs wouldn't of got into the position they are today. It's expensive to go and watch football every week every season but fans do it because they are commited to there clubs and want see them do better. Your post is of someone who doesn't go the match so you wouldn't understand.

Your post is of someone who doesn't understand simple economics. Of course you don't want your prices to be exorbitant. The question is where does the supply curve hit the demand curve and where can we maximize profits in the long term without causing a backlash. One guy of an entire board of directors having a moral objection does not prove that QPR has selected exorbitant prices.

Just because most of the clubs aren't making much profit doesn't mean that they are intended to be not-for-profit.

No it doesn't my post doesn't mention the econonical side of it, yes clubs have to keep up with the inflation or 'cost of living' as its called but thats around 2.5% - 3% each year. Clubs take the piss QPR have increased there prices by 40% thats disgusting, Arsneal and Liverpool 6% - How in that justified? Man Utd's have increased. Prices shouldn't go up anymore than the yearly inflation or clubs will be pricing the fans out of going to games.

But surely they are putting the prices up so high, they are infact abusing how inelastic the demand is? Thus, abusing the fans.

I agree. I'm sure what most pisses the QPR fans off is that to even afford the lowest price of £47 you will have to be from an middle class background. Although clubs like Arsenal have prices of up to £90 odd quid, the fans still have the opportunity to purchase the £30 tickets, thus keeping their fans from a working class background and not pricing them out game. The club has showed no respect to all the fans who stuck by them when they were facing the likes of ourselves down in League one.

That's an obtusely simplistic view. First of all, macro economic inflation has almost no relation to inflation in player wages and transfer fees. Surely, player wages and transfer fees are increasing by a lot more than 3%. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, if QPR wants to stay up, they are gonna have to spend a lot more than they spent last year. And they are going to have to keep spending more if they want to move up the table and become a bigger club.

Whether or not their increase is too much or too little requires more analysis. But for you to sit here and say "that's too much" on nothing more than emotions, gut feelings, and sympathy for the "little guy,", I don't think that's quite scientific enough, frankly.
