The ex-Argentina manager is taking a stab at club coaching with the Dubai outfit, and had a hectic first day on Monday as he was introduced to his new home in the Middle East.
After almost 10 months away from football ex-Argentina coach Diego Maradona is back, having accepted a lucrative offer to become the new trainer of UAE side Al-Wasl.
No stranger to the Middle East having been a guest in Dubai and Abu Dhabi numerous times, 'El Diego' will nevertheless be under pressure as he resumes a club coaching career which has been less than sparkling up to this point.
A short spell with minnows Mandiyu of Corrientes was followed by a two-month stay at Avellaneda grande Racing Club, neither of which saw much success with the 50-year-old on the bench.
Nevertheless Maradona will approach the job with his usual enthusiasm and optimism, and was beaming on Monday as he signed a two-year contract to coach in the UAE Premier League in a deal reportedly worth over £3 million a year to the Argentine football legend.

Well considering that 90% of the forum visits the Al-Wasl thread on a regular basis, people would know about it anyways. But it doesn't hurt to inform the few who don't visit the thread.

Khalil on FM has the potential to be a top player in a top league, but instead he demands 10-20k if you try to bring him to Europe.

The top players in Dubai get paid shit loads. Don't see why they would want to go to Europe unless they matched their pay.
