They're both quite different. Don't be bitter.

I'm not being bitter, I'm not calling for a ban nor am I criticising him. I'm simply commenting that the reaction (on this forum) for this incident is different to Rooney's, both players swore yet one had abused chucked at him the other is being called a legend. I realise that Rooney swore straight down the camera in the heat of the moment, but Balotelli also swore for no apparent reason. It may not have been as bad but he still swore, on T.V whilst children were watching.

Balotelli swore by accident out of happiness of winning a trophy, his first in the EPL and the clubs first in many years. Rooney was just being a cunt, gee Rooney you beat West Ham, big whoop they are getting relegated. No need to swear over that.

Oh so being 2-0 down and go 3-2 up when you're fighting for the Premier league title and every point is vital is no big deal? Emotions were running high. Rooney immediatley apologised after the game. As far as I know, Balotelli hasn't.fluffy_kittens wrote: Rooney was just being a cunt, gee Rooney you beat West Ham, big whoop they are getting relegated. No need to swear over that.

Rooney stared down the camera being agressive. Shouted fucking hell and that
Balotelli, who is Italian, responded to a question saying his own season was shit which he then realised might be bad and asked if he was allowed to say it
Bit of a difference in the scenarios.

I know Rooney's English isn't the best but it's more fluent than Balotelli's, that's why people seem to let Balo off for it.

I reckon it's something to do with the translation. The way he asked if it was okay to say made me think that maybe he's been taught that shit was the Italian equivalent of crap you know?
Not that I particularly care anyway.

One plays for a team of manure.
But seriously, I think Ballotelli isn't getting a similar reaction because he is ignorant/innocent. He said "can I say that?" after swearing.
