Exactly my point.Mr Leiva wrote:polska. wrote:I don't think people understand the emotion behind these matches and other great derbies/rivalries.
A Classico is more than just a game in my honest opinion. It's a battle in an ongoing war between two bitter enemies.
So is Celtic/Rangers.
Liverpool/manchester United.
Ac Milan/Inter Milan.
Galatasaray/Fenerbahce
ect ...
Though I think Liverpool and United have too much armchair fans in recent history for there to be too much drama.
Add to that list Ajax/Feyenoord, Roma/Lazio, Catania/Palermo, the various Athens clubs, Besitkas to the Gala/Fener, Gornik Zabrze/Ruch Chorzow, Legia/Wisla, Lech/Legia, tons of Brazilian rivalries I don't know about () etc.
Are any of those games free from drama? No. Hell no.
I think it is Sky and the media whom have brainwashed the English population into thinking Real Madrid v Barcelona is supposed to be some amazing event of spectacular football. That is not what the Classico is about, it is about getting one over the other, and much more if the result can effect trophies.
