Gabbidon has been charged by the FA following his four-letter outburst at fans on Twitter. Following the 2-1 home defeat by Aston Villa a Tweet under his name read: "U know what ---- the lot of you u will never get another tweet from me again u just don't get it do you. Bye bye."
The former Wales international quickly closed his account but was charged with "improper conduct and/or bringing the game into disrepute" and could face a similar £20,000 fine to the one received by West Ham United's Carlton Cole earlier this month.
Cole was warned and fined after posting a Tweet which read: "Immigration has surrounded the Wembley premises! I knew it was a trap! Hahahaha."
The striker later claimed it was a joke but the FA made it clear in February that it would take a tough stand on such posts when it moved to clarify laws relating to social networking after a series of controversial Tweets.
At the time the FA warned players who were using the likes of Twitter, Facebook and internet blogs that they "should be aware that comments made on such sites may be considered public comment, and that further to FA Rule E3, any comments which are deemed improper, bring the game into disrepute, or are threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting may lead to disciplinary action.
"Comments which are personal in nature or could be construed as offensive, use foul language or contain direct or indirect threats aimed at other participants are likely to be considered improper."
