    I think he is better both than messi and maradona.People tend to underate him because he was playing 40 years ago,when defences werent as solid as today.But people have to take into account the fact that pitches back then were in bad condition,and also that the fitness of the players wasnt as high as today's.Also shoes back then were pretty bad,now they are much better.I think if pele played today he would have been better than messi.

    i'm the opposite. I don't think Pele was much more talented than someone like Adebayor, it was just a different era and he was the best of it. Like you said, player fitness is a major difference between the eras. Plus defenses seem to have been alot weaker back then, considering the likes of Pele, Zarra, Puskas and others scored insane amount of goals. I don't believe those three were super-human footballers.

    Of course comparing players between eras is stupid. Too many factors to consider in.


    Oh and the Pele bummers will put this into the hall of shame regardless of my explanation. Razz

    Maradona is a cheating drug addict, so he already lost the battle on that front imo. Messi is humble, happy and has a great attitude. Just more reasons to want him on your team.
