Re: Game of Thrones Thread
Why the fuck not? It doesn't have to be final, just something to move their stories on a little bit, set it up nicely for the next season.

Re: Game of Thrones Thread
You made it seem final
Talking about Mance Rayder who hasn't even been introduced and Theon getting payback... from whom? As of now no one is in Winterfell but Theon. Robb hasn't sent anyone and neither has Roose Bolton, who said he could.

Bullshit. In the finale, Theon will be executed by Bran, Jon will sleep with the ginger and assassinate Mance Rayder, Robb will lay siege to King's Landing, Sansa will stab Joffrey, and Daenaryss will set sail for Westeros with her dragons perched on the masts. I'm off to put money on it.

Re: Game of Thrones Thread
I am slowly getting through the first book, not gonna look in the book thread until I'm completely done with the series.
I wonder how long it will take to catch up, there's an awful lot of them.

Re: Game of Thrones Thread
I'm reading book 3 right now and man... it's going to be interesting as hell to see how they translate that to TV. I've heard that the writers will start to deviate more from the book next season but so many major things happen that it will still be a crazy season for fans. Excited already... pissed I have to wait a year.

Re: Game of Thrones Thread
Seems like they've always interpreted it a bit differently to how it is in the book. One example being book Tyrion sounds like an ugly fuck, different coloured eyes and a weird face, but TV Tyrion is probably the most attractive dwarf I've seen (no homo).

Re: Game of Thrones Thread
Well with things like that I expected it, you don't want an ugly cast. It's major scenes that they've changed the most, like how Dany's dragons got stolen, that doesn't happen in the books.

Always love a good cavalry charge. Takes me back to the Rohirrim.
Disappointed with the result tbh. I hate Joffrey above all else, and I don't care so much for Tyrion.

Same. I was rooting for Stannis in this one.

I love Tyrion but hate Joffrey, I don't care much for Stannis but he is the rightful heir, when I read the scenes I was rooting for both sides. Martin is a great writer man.

I don't even dislike Stannis. He's corrupt, he ordered the death of his brother, but he's just the best military leader you could want. Going up the ladder first is just heroic, the opposite of Joffrey. Hope he pulls through, considering he's the last legitimate Baratheon.
Not sure if Davros(?) is actually dead.

In my line of favourites, Starks>Baratheons>Tyrells(Still a major faction)>Targaeryans>Lannisters>Greyjoys. Sure more will emerge, Catelyn Stark's people for instance.

Re: Game of Thrones Thread
I like Tyrion but I was rooting for Stannis. I knew Joffrey would puss out and head back.
I didn't quite understand what happened with Doug? He's scared of fire and just freaked out? But now that they won the battle, Joffrey would surely have him killed for saying Fuck the King to his face.
I dislike the Lannisters but I like the guy who fought for Tyrion and shot the arrow to ignite the prairie fire or whatever.
Also this must surely be the end of Stannis, it appeared to me that he was captured.

Pay attention to detail man. Doug had half is face burnt because his older brother held his face against some fire because he had nicked his toy. Traumatic experience, even for the big man. He's gone anyway, up north.
Bronn's shot was ridiculous, not a simple sellsword surely. Stannis looked like he was dragged to safety instead of imprisonment.

If we're paying attention to detail, his name is Sandor Clegane not Doug.

Re: Game of Thrones Thread
I was quite sure there was an earlier episode where Joffrey had some poor sap fighting him for his amusement and he smacked him across the face, the guy then fell over the wall to his bloody death.
Joffrey then says "Well struck, Doug" or that's what I thought it was.
Should be a good sode next week. Surely Rob must make a move. Initially when the head Lannister came in and routed Stannis' men, I thought it was Rob helping Stannis
Why doesn't the head Lannister just take King's Landing now? He just saved it and only in his way is inbred joffey

He has no claim. Joffrey can claim to be King because officially his father was Robert, the brothers dispute his claim on Ned's word that he's a bastard, Daenarys claims it because she's the heir of the King prior to Robert. He'd have to kill his own double-grandson before he'd give it up anyway.
Saying that, it's likely he'll be pulling the strings from now on, he's head of the family, the kingdom is in debt to him up to its eyeballs, and the army will follow him, not Joffrey.

Joffrey is a Lannister though... so why would he take the city from his own blood.

Doug the dog is a dastardly devil. He's always devising deadly deeds to damage the damned.
