Tomorrow will be the 22nd anniversary of the Hillsborough stadium disaster. 96 Reds lost their lives, 96 football fans went to a game and never came home.

LFCTV will be showing the service free on TV and online for anyone that wishes to view it. Use this thread to post your thoughts, anything appropriate from the media world or just your general feeling on an emotional day.

Please keep this thread away from the way previous threads have been on EA. If you've got a controversial opinion, keep it to yourself.

Yeah RIP. I think the worst thing about this is the fact there is only really 3 that you could say lived a proper life even though 50-67 isn't that old.

    Flowers changed every day.

Memory still lives on, and will for the next generations to come.

No one should go to football match and not return home.

22 years on, and no justice has been done.

    Justice for the 96

It would be nice if Forest paid some sort of respect/memorial at our ground or something similar with us being the team Liverpool were playing that day, but I'm not sure if we do or not.

Feel a bit wrong just going like a robot and saying Justice for the 96, not having a go at any one who is saying that.

But I genuinely feel horrible when I read or talk about this.. really sad how people died for no reason.

Just trying to imagine what it was like. Like, I'm trying to put myself in the shoes of the people who died, what must they have been thinking just before they died? Horrible.

Watched a few documentary's on this over the years. The stories from survives are heartbreaking, especially the ones that lost love ones and have had to identify them after the disaster.

Gone, but never EVER forgotten. A sad sad day and the day I always call the 'heaviest' of the year. A real low for me personally and many others. I cry every time I go the memorial service.

I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for the families and supporters who witnessed that day. My Dad went and I know it deeply effects him, and it's a big part of why he doesn't go to the football these days. Uncle and Granddad both attended too. I think it effects them (People who were around in the 80's) more than it effects us, not to say it doesn't effect us. But they were there that day, they were regular match goer's then.

It's funny actually because my Dad was telling me a story about Hillsborough. And the year after Hillsborough, Liverpool had got to the semi final again, think it was against Crystal Palace at Villa park, and any way, they were trying to get in the stadium, 10 minutes before kick off and there was a big big rush and panic again, people were getting squashed in the crowds and the police had lost control again (obviously not to the extent of Hillsborough) and my Dad said to the police officer; "You haven't learned anything from last year have use? Use are not assed about us fans, use are a disgrace"

And the policemen replied: "Shut up and get in the stadium dick head before I twat you, I'm not assed"

Just goes to show, that was the mentality and attitude from the police back then and ultimately proves to me, there was only one thing at fault on that day in Hillsborough and it was the police. End of story.

I hate people with limited knowledge, just coming in and saying without any thought or feelings 'it was the fans fault' really really winds me up.
