Your Teams Best Team

This thread used to appear every now and then on the previous site so might as well get the ball rolling on here just for a bit of fun and no doubt a few disagreements .

Bascially pick the best set of players for your team that have appeared in your lifetime, it can be because they are skillfull, scored loads of goals, great tackles etc not just your favourite players.

Lucky we've all kind of had short lives on here.

Good side! I was born at the end of 1989 so i couldn't put in Ossie or Goddle. I ought to put Anderton in my side - no idea how i forgot him as i had him on my shirt and met him a while ago when he played for Bournemouth. Interesting that we have similar sides though. I had Bale at my left back but he hasn't played his best stuff at left back so had to go for Ziege purely because i remember how he used to smash the ball whenever he got hold of it.

I could only go on videos i've seen of Hoddle and Ardiles anyway tbf. I would love to watch them live though.

I liked Ziege too but the thought of Bale overlapping Ginola was too good to resist.

Its not easy to leave out Modric and Berbatov either. So many great players, i'm sure VDV will be one in future aswell.

It was also hard to miss out on Sheringham aswell because his partnership with Klinsmann was pure genius (even more so than Keane and Berbatov imo).

I have to agree with this. Would be incredible to see it now with all players at their best. I used to love the Invincibles. We have both wide midfielders almost getting 10 goals per season, Bergkamp being about 15-20 and Henry well over 20. Vieira used to chip in with 5 or so too. Fabregas got almost 20 last season too. 8 of them are still playing too!! Wenger, sign em up!!

We should still have Gilberto now imo. He's not even past it if he plays for Brazil.

He isn't too bad. Can play center mid, defensive mid, centre back, he's experienced and can captain a team. Sounds good to me.

We almost won the league/fa cup in the 80's...whilst Cleverley (more than Lansbury) was really good last year it's hardly comparable to our "glory days"
