Smashing 'em.
But rain could be coming. They could run out of time again.

So fucking disappointing but its the way it goes. Still wouldn't bet against us retaining the thing but it may well go down to the last test now.

I used to love it, used to go to a fair amount of Lancashire matches and went to Auz to watch the last ashes (the one where we got battered). I've gone off it a bit since though, tend to just watch the odd international and the obligatory watch of the ashes.

TBH there's worst sports.
I wouldn't watch test cricket unless there was nothing else on but 20/20 cricket is pretty good as there's pressure to score quickly.
In the end it's better than NFL

At the end of the day, how many countries take Hand-Egg seriously? America. That's about it. For cricket, there's many countries that have it as one of their main sports. Says everything really. And I quite like the NFL at times.

Re: Does any one like Cricket?
Looks like my cricket coach is forcing me to play this season despite my recent lack of form. Seriously, my bowling and fielding has gone shit, not sure what happened.
Need to practice my bowling without going outside and looking like a loner or looking like a twat infront of people. Any idea's?

Hard to practice cricket at home. I suggest just bowling slow and accurate when you're out there. If you're good enough the batsman misses and the ball cleans up the stumps and you'll be a hero
Or just get some mates to practice with.

Re: Does any one like Cricket?
Seriously, I was practicing at the nets a few days ago and my bowling as horrific. My batting wasn't bad, but I'm generally a batsman. Still, you can't play cricket if you can't bowl

Re: Does any one like Cricket?
You could as an opening batsman, or a wicketkeeper. Bowling is the easiest bit in cricket imo. Just practice anyway, and try not to just throw it

Re: Does any one like Cricket?
I used to be an opener. Now I am about 4th or 5th. Not keen on wicket keeping.
I just played the Bopara role. Came in about halfway through the order, slog a few, and have a bowl later on .

Re: Does any one like Cricket?
well I'm a wicket-keeper so yeah I can't really help you.....
but when you bowl, bowl it slow then start to qucken up the pace. Or stand infront of a mirror and roll the arm over (no ball needed when in front of mirror)

Re: Does any one like Cricket?
I think I've started leaning too much and just throwing it. I'm usually a pace bowler so I guess my technique has gone shit.
Think i need a new bat too

Does Cricket actually require real athleticism? Honest question, because i know absolutely nothing about the game.

Re: Does any one like Cricket?
A great deal actually. Especially when you're batting. Running the whole wicket every few seconds while wearing awkward, heavy padding and carrying a large plank of wood. Then getting into position, swinging the large plank of wood then running again. It's very tiring.
Bowling kills your arms and fielding, it's alright if you find a quiet position like gully or fine leg. Deep mid wicket is pretty difficult sometimes.
To be honest I find the sport much more tiring than football.

You should go down to the nets, get all padded up and have a few guys bowl at you - see how it goes

Not true cricket though. Only test cricket really exposes every strength and weakness of bowlers and batsmen.
