What is Google Chrome?

As the title states what is Google Chrome?

Does the same as IE, Firefox, Safari etc... but better.

Yeah I've just downloaded it then, gorra' say, it's very useful. Seems so much faster than your average Internet Browser, pages load in an instance and no annoying clicking sound any more either.

Who has Google Chrome?

Just noticed as well it has spell check installed. (Not that I need it like )

I still use Firefox because all the best add-ons are on it. Too-many-tabs, All in one sidebar and others I have no clue how i'd live without.

Chrome does look very good but I won't be changing while I am addicted to my add-ons.

Opera's latest browser LOOKS VERY VERY VERY fucking good though, and it's almost as fast as Chrome.

To be honest, I'm not really in the know with all this stuff (Computers in general actually), so I may need some assistance along the way.

One thing I would like to ask though, this Google Chrome seems faster than what I previously had, but isn't speed dependent on how fast your internet is?

Nah you can. Don't know what it's like for PC's but I have a Mac so Safari works best for me as it's an Apple browser.

From what I understand, your internet connection effects your download and upload rates. So if the website had a part in flash, and you have a slow internet, it'd take a long time to load.

But the actual loading time for a site like let's say this forum, is dependent more on your browser. There are videos on youtube regarding this. Type in comparison of browsers or whatever and you'll find the exact info.

With Google Chrome, every site I've been on so far pretty much loads in a flash, were as when I was just on Internet Explorer, take this place for example, pages would take ages to load and the smilies wouldn't show up either for ages. Now soon's as I click a page everything on the page is loaded instantly.

The smileys don't show up for me here until a long time of loading.

That was the case with me, 'till I installed Chrome.

Reason Chrome is so fast is cause they basically took IE and striped it down to it's bare essentials. There's some fancy technical word for this but I can't remember atm.

Been using chrome for months, it's the best one IMO.

Chrome is fucking awesome.

Opera is actually the fastest browser. Firefox is still the best.

I've been using chrome since it was released and I haven't looked back.




My one question is, why do so many people have loads of add-ons? I don't use any and to be honest, I don't need any.

I have a few add ons for firefox
AdBlockerplus- blocks all adverts , even the ones that pop up on youtube, you can also block any image or flash file
Spell checker- is in the name

Chrome has a spell checker straight away. I do understand the ad blocker though but Polska talks about like 800 different add-ons.

Chrome is wank for me.

When I click on some links, like the real football section of this forum, instead of opening the page it will try and download the page.

It also doesn't support IDM integreation so it's hard for me to download my stuff.

Shite.

I have loads of add-ons that are nice to have.

But the add-ons that ARE INCREDIBLY USEFUL are Too Many Tabs and All in one Sidebar. I'd put ScreenGrab! in this list as well. DAMN useful addons.
