I think they go with pretty much anything shirt wise. Perhaps something light rather than dark though.
Need to make sure you get the shoes right though, the way so many of them cuff at the end looks really stupid with the wrong shoes imo. I hate how people wear them without socks and toms, makes you look like a tit. When I buy some I think I'll probably wear them with desert boots and see how that looks.
Im usually a hoodie sort of person (not those chavy hoods) but ive started wearing loads of those checkered shirts so I will probably wear the Chino trousers with those.
What sort of shoes you reckon should be worn because ive got a pair of standard converse but the rest of my shoes are Adidas shell toes and im not sure if they would go with Chinos.

Converse works, one of my mates constantly wears chinos and converse. I reckon other than that so long as they're smart they work. Like you said trainers wouldn't go.

Re: Clothes Thread
Bought these shirts a few days ago and they just arrived today. From River Island.
Nice for layering for going out.
Summery. Arrived and it's actually pink though.

I like the bottom one.
I was a cheapo the other day and bought a Cloak & Dagger hoodie and then American Apparel strings to save myself £15.

I wanted an AA hoody the other day, before I go back and purchase you must tell me more about this financially sound incentive.
