IT’S a case of red faces all round as Jamie Redknapp stars in a new advertisement for Nintendo Wii urging his son to “smash it”.
A badly-timed commercial sees Redknapp and his family playing the football game on new release Wii Party.
Redknapp, 37, enthusiastically advises son Charlie to “Smash it! Bang, yes!” as wife Louise, 36, cheers them on.
The former Liverpool and England footballer found himself caught up in the recent Andy Gray and Richard Keys sexism saga, which saw the two presenters sacked from Sky Sports.
In a leaked clip, Keys, 53, made lurid remarks about one of Redknapp’s ex-girlfriends and whether he had “smashed it” – later revealed to be Louise Glass, 38.
A source said: “It’s a bit embarrassing after all the furore in the last few weeks.
“It was innocent enough when filmed last November, but I’m sure Jamie will be wincing when he sees it.”
