On June 28, 2010, it was confirmed that the seventh season will be Steve Carell's last season, as his contract expires. NBC plans on continuing the series after his departure, and would welcome any return appearances by Carell. Actor and writer-producer B. J. Novak has renewed his contract with Universal Media Studios through an eighth season and will be promoted to executive producer halfway through the seventh season. As of this season, Zach Woods, who plays Gabe Lewis on the show, has been promoted to a series regular. Executive producer/writer/actor Paul Lieberstein has confirmed that Amy Ryan, who portrays Holly Flax, will appear in eight episodes of the season. He also confirmed Kathy Bates will return as Jo Bennett in the season premiere. Melora Hardin, who portrays Jan Levinson, has announced on her Twitter account that she will return this season. Timothy Olyphant will guest star in at least two episodes as a rival salesman. It is also revealed that Pam dated Olyphant's character while Jim dated Karen.

Should change this to The Office official thread.

Watched the season (And up to date now) Hands down the funniest show I have ever watched, I even think a tear came out when Michael left.

    My favorite show.

Oddly, I don't like Michael that much. Every other character is funny though.

Anyone think Erin is cute? I love her, they all have different styles which is great.

Creed is the best hands down.

Ahly, change this to the Official thread or I will make one Simples

I was disappointed with Thursdays episode, James Spader made it good, the rest was quite terrible. The gym sub-plot wasn't great.

Robert California is my favorite character on the show now. I would even dare say he is on the same level as Michael Scott.

Debatable but I agree with you in some ways. I think they are obviously two different characters, Michael being quite stupid at times, thinking he is like some sort of womaniser and that everyone likes him, and when he is sad he is legendary. On the other hand, Robert is very smart, he is persuasive and some of the things he does are incredible. Michael did get boring, and so far, Robert in his first few episodes was better than the first few of Michael.

Who plays Robert California's wife? She seems so familiar but my mind went blank.

EDIT: I got it. She was in the movie "Liar, Liar" and the show "Rescue Me".

Yeah I got it. See my edit. I know her from the movie and show I posted. I watched Semi-Pro, but I don't remember her on it. I only saw that movie once.

No, the season is still going on. It's just taking a winter break. The season concludes in May.

I wonder who is hiring or telling Kathy to seduce Jim. Maybe it's Pam's ex boyfriend?

Before they went to Florida I got the impression she was just on the phone to her friend.

Yeah, which is why I think someone else is in on it too. It's more than just Kathy wanting Jim.
