Re: OFC Thread
How much better are New Zealand than the worst OFC teams like American Samoa? could they beat some of this nations by double digits like how Australia did?

Re: OFC Thread
I would imagine that they could beat teams such as Tonga easily. American Samoa have improved since the 31-0 drubbing and have players such as Nicky Salapu in goal, who is a good goalkeeper. I think that NZ would struggle against Fiji and Solomon Islands though who are rising forces in football.

So you think soon someone different might be able to top New Zealand and possibly finish first in OFC WC qualifying??Pip wrote:I would imagine that they could beat teams such as Tonga easily. Yes. In 2006, Solomon Islands drew with Australia 2-2 back in 2006. Plus the Solomons' national sport is football, which proves as an advantage. They also have Austrian coaches helping develop the nation too.

Re: OFC Thread
the pitches in the other 'less developed' countries are not up the same standard as the ones we play on in New Zealand. So away from home we struggle alot against these teams.
Plus none of our European players come and play in the qualifying

I was referring to the Tonga goalkeeper video. Trust me, I see better talent in my Sunday league.

Re: OFC Thread
Group A:
Vanuatu
New Caledonia
American Samoa/Cook Islands/Samoa or Tonga
Tahiti
Group B:
Fiji
New Zealand
Solomon Islands
Papua New Guinea
Vanuatu should walk thair group. All the big boys are in Group B, Fiji, NZ and the Solomon Islands. Any of those 3 could win that and I think the winner of Group B will play the stupid games against a team that do not deserve to go to the World Cup.

The Cook Islands squad for the Pacific Games. Tuka Tisam is the best of the brothers imo, incase you were interested. He plays as an attacking midfielder.

We shall see when they play Fiji next. I'd say they are on par. Solomon Islands would win at home, Fiji would win at hime.
