If he produces the goods then it's all good.

Yeah but you can't just say he's worth £35 million without the credentials at hand now can you? He may be class but he still has not proved it on the world stage, only in the Premiership.

The deal is ludicrous and it has happened because Liverpool had to panick buy and Newcastle recognised this.

Hopefully now though, Liverpool fans will realise that Dimitar Berbatov fully justifies his 30m price, as he is, and always will be a far superior footballer to Andy Carroll, in every aspect other than barging opposition players (fouling).

Yup. Since Man City became rich and Real Madrid went on another galacticos spending spree the market has gotten beyond ridiculous. Stupid amounts of money are being chucked around.

There is no way in hell that Andy Carroll is worth £15-20M, let alone £35M. I feel sorry for him because he will never live up to the transfer free even at 22 years old.

The only way I can see him justifying his fee is if he scores 20 goals this season, 22 next season and 20 again the season after that. Then I think it would be a justified fee.

He is English, and scoring goals ATM. We overpaid.
