Curtis Davies has completed his cross city move from Aston Villa to Birmingham for a fee believed to be £3.5million.
Davies joins midfielder Craig Gardner and defender Liam Ridgewell as former Villa players plying their trade across the city. The
former England Under-21 player had looked set to rejoin Leicester for a
second loan spell but has instead opted for St Andrews and another
chance at Premier League football.Alex McLeish had been desperate
to recruit a central defender after Scott Dann was ruled out for the
season with a hamstring injury. Dann's partnership with Roger Johnson had been one of the tenets of Birmingham's success in the past couple of seasons. It
is now hoped that Davies will be able to recapture the form that made
him one of the country's brightest young prospects a few years ago.
