Whenever I've seen Ramieres he looks dire. He's like Walcott but a box to box midfielder...and not as fast and not nearly as effective. So lacking in everything you expect from a Brazilian....yet even when it comes to his strengths he is hit and miss. Might show a sign of good play and then go and look wank 2 seconds later.
If Ramires is worth £18m then Bent is worth double that.

This is just my opinion, but I think Wenger was trying to use the first half of the season to develop Song's offensive skills. Wenger said that Song's fitness improved this year, so I feel he tried to use this improved fitness to take his game to the next level.
His midfield partner was going to be either Diaby or Wilshere, and it is obvious that the two of them spent much of the first half playing more defensively. Due to Diaby's injuries Jack played more, and his defensive game improved greatly.
In the last couple of games, Song has stayed back more and Jack has attacked more, and I think these are the natural roles. Yet they are both still young and needed to develop their all around games.
The first half of the season for Song and Jack appeared to be an exercise to make both of them more complete players.

I tried to explain this before in the Arsenal thread, but didn't really know how to word it.The-Reporter wrote:This is just my opinion, but I think Wenger was trying to use the first half of the season to develop Song's offensive skills. I'd say Song is certainly one of the best defensive midfielders in the world for his age, he's even younger than Ramires although both 23.

Like Walcott? Walcott the player with 10 goals and 5 assists. He was out for 2 months as well.
I can't sort out shit. I'm on my phone with no Internet at home.

IMO De Jong is the best purely defensive midfielder in the league, possibly world
Ask him to go out of his own half and he's dire though.

Definately not, Masch does what he does only better(i.e much cleaner in the tackle)

Disagree, DJ has only ever had 1 red card and I bet Masch has had more than that in one season, there's no way he's cleaner in the tackle.
I'm also pretty sure DJ has never hit the yellow cards limit for us.
The idea that he's a dirty player is a myth perpetuated by two unfortunate tackles and one karate kick (which was admittedly bad). However it's a good myth to have, loads of players shit it when he goes in since the world cup and the injury to Ben Arfa.

I edited my post after, not that it matters.
What does it prove? Erm well I guess it proves he's either very lucky or is actually a good tackler. Take your pick.

I choose Lucky then. Both are aggressive tacklers, but Mascherano is the cleaner of the two imo.

Both, he is a good tackler but amount of scum tackles he makes is a joke, and as far as i remember mascherano is CLEAN in his tackles

Fair enough that's your opinion, but I'm just saying DJ has a much better disciplinary record and it's hard to blame all of it on luck.
I've said it a lot, but Nige slides in like 3-5 times a game and he very very rarely comes out having injured someone or with a booking. Fair enough he's made a few bad tackles and was lucky not to get sent off in the WC, but I've seen Masch do worse.

Scum tackles? Are you saying he tries to injure people?

Mascherano's tackling is very good.
He is quite dirty as well though.
So is De Jong.

IMO I think De Rossi is better than Mascherano.
