I don't see how Babel going to Hoffenheim really is going to stop Liverpool getting Suarez if they want him or not.. I bet they do get him.

They'll need to use his actual equivalent in cash, rather than Babel + several million.wellz wrote:I don't see how Babel going to Hoffenheim really is going to stop Liverpool getting Suarez if they want him or not.. I bet they do get him.
May be too much for Liverpool. They aren't Man City after all.

You, least of all, know how much money our owners are willing to spend.

It's not just that, I don't doubt you are well off.
But you have many positions to strengthen, and very likely your board has given you a budget. Spending over 20M on Suarez isn't the best way to spend the budget when you look at Liverpool's squad.

Re: Ryan Babel to TSG Hoffenheim
Truthfully we need strengthening in multiple positions, but adding a goal scorer to the squad never hurt, because right now we have like....2.....on the whole team

Re: Ryan Babel to TSG Hoffenheim
What a waste of talent on Liverpools part.
5 years ago Babel was one of the best young players around. Chose Liverpool over Arsenal, didn't get a good run in the team and now he's off to a lower profile club and pretty much back where he started.
Look at Nani for example.. he was very poor at the start of his United career but since last season Sir Alex played him and played him and now he's one of the most dangerous wingers in the league.

Babel was never going to be a Nani. Babel runs like a new born foal in comparison to Nani.
If anything, I'd have said he was more of a potential Anthony Valencia in the making, albeit, one with more pace and a quicker burst of acceleration.
Doubt he'll be setting Germany alight.

I think if he plays week in week out we will see what a class player he can be.Scott wrote:The-Reporter wrote:What a waste of talent on Liverpools part.

I thought Demba Ba was on his way to Stoke, so maybe they are replacing him with Babel.wellz wrote:I don't see how Babel going to Hoffenheim really is going to stop Liverpool getting Suarez if they want him or not.. I bet they do get him.
Personally, I have always liked Babel, all the best to him.

Re: Ryan Babel to TSG Hoffenheim
Babel never tried hard enough, didn't want it enough, wern't prepared to put the effort and grit in to make things happen here for himself, I've been going the match since he joined the club and I've pretty much seen all of his tenure here in person, he just didn't have that real top flight quality about him, and thats a fact. He couldn't get a game under Rafa, couldn't get a game out of Hodgson, and was probably gunna struggle to get a game out of Kenny, which is why Kenny as seen fit to let the lad leave.

Re: Ryan Babel to TSG Hoffenheim
Babel was a hotter prospect than Nani was and had more potential, but the cunt chose your club over ours. If we had gotten him and Wenger had him under his spell I'm pretty sure he would be a top winger or whatever position he would have played for us.Scott wrote:The-Reporter wrote:What a waste of talent on Liverpools part.

You don't know that. Can't put forward an argument based on assumptions.

Why? He's hardly turned Walcott into a top winger has he?

Chelsea is shit at making youth
Liverpool is shit at developing youth
United is shit at pushing youth to first team
Only Arsenal does things well!
