    Preston’s Andy Lonergan could be on his way to Manchester City. Phil Brown, the new boss at rock-bottom Deepdale, needs to raise funds for players.

    Lonergan, 27, is fancied by City as a possible replacement if Given leaves but WIGAN may step in with a surprise offer.

    The highly-rated Lonergan would be allowed to go for about £750,000.

    I don't get why City want him though think

    Hart and Given are fine, unless Given goes ofc.

    He'll only go to City if they shift Shay IMO.

    Would he actually play for Wigan?

    There's no point in him coming to City just to sit on the bench if he's actually a good keeper.

    Probably. They've only got Al-Habsi on loan and Kirkland is shit. Would be pretty stupid to go to City if he wants playing time, but he seems like the kind of guy who would let money get the better of him.
