If you're just predicting the winner, I don't see how it's fair to give extra points because they predicted it would finish in penalties rather than normal time. It would make sense if you were predicting the score, but not if you're just predicting the result.

No, you are predicting the winner, but as an added bonus, you predict when the game will end. It's to spice up the competition.

Qatar lose to Japan in the last minute. They seem to have problems keeping a lead. But I'm not complaining, I got my 2 points.

Qatar exceeded my expectations. They still have a while to improve for the World Cup. They will probably be around South Africa's level by then.
