Re: Top Teenage Prospects (FIFA.com)
I don't know how an average player (In Polska's mind) could have the highest pass completion rate against Marseille, and a 17 year old, being an average player, well, if you're an average player at 17 then imagine what you could be at 27.

Re: Top Teenage Prospects (FIFA.com)
How is Gerrard more complete? I'd like to know. I rate Gerrard, certainly in his prime, but Zidane is simply better.
And McEachren is a stunnin' talent. End of. The guy's got an amazing carreer infront of him. He's not the kind of guy who drowns himself in the money and attention he gets. Decent lad, great player, already. Looks like England's getting themselves a new generation of midfielders, technical type of midfielders, that is.

It is.

The only thing Gerrard has over Zidane is goal scoring, but that does not make him complete.

The only thing Zidane had over Gerrard was flicks, tricks and a team of the best players in the world around him.
Really like in say the 2006 fa cup final do you think Zidane could have done what Gerrard did?

Seeing as Zidane dominated a World Cup final... yes

Re: Top Teenage Prospects (FIFA.com)
He scored 2 headers, had a team of amazing players around him. Im not putting him down, but if you put them on the same pitch both in their prime and in equal quality of teams Gerrard has the ferocity to pick up a ball and do what needs to be done himself. Zidane would do a few flicks and tricks and try to set somebody else up.dena wrote:The-Reporter wrote:The only thing Zidane had over Gerrard was flicks, tricks and a team of the best players in the world around him.

Zidane also dragged an average French side to qualifying for the 2006 World Cup and then continued dragging them straight to the final. Could Gerrard do that?

If you think Zidane was just a few flicks and tricks than it's not worth continuing this argument with you because you've obviously only watched youtube videos of him and are judging him based on that. To say that Zidane couldn't "do it himself" yet dominated a World Cup final vs. Brazil, and dragged France to another final is absurd. I haven't even mentioned what he did at club level.

Average? Thierry Henry, Makelele, Malouda, Ribery at his very best, Vieira and a world class defence.Rei wrote:Zidane also dragged an average French side to qualifying for the 2006 World Cup and then continued dragging them straight to the final. Could Gerrard do that?

I didn't say he's just a few flicks and tricks. Whatever, if Zidane had been at Liverpool through his career like Gerrard has, he would have won fuck all.dena wrote:The-Reporter wrote:He scored 2 headers, had a team of amazing players around him. Yeh totally average.
Average not in terms of players but in terms of how they were playing. If there were so great why did Zidane have to be called out of retirement to help them qualify? Zidane is the one who led that side to the final. Without him they would have probably gone out of the group stages.
"Ribery at his best", what are you on about? Ribery was a raw 23 year old who had just started doing well for Marseille. 2006 was his breakthrough tournament. Ribery at his best was the 2008-09 season and part of the 09-10 season.

Ribery was absolute class in that world cup and i haven't seen him play as well as he did then since. He was fucking shit last season and is well overrated now.Rei wrote:The-Reporter wrote:Average? Not really how the law works though.
I mean, Madeline McCann is pretty fit, still makes me a paedophile though..
