If I was Arsenal and Madrid offered me this, I'd take it stick Gibbs left back.

The guy has been shit for basically the past 2 seasons.

No way Real will go for him and definitely not give up Benzema when they are not even deep up top.

Marcelo has much more potential than Clichy.

Marcelo doesn't have much more potential than Clichy unless you're talking about LW.

Clichy is still a good LB, not as good as he could have been but good. He's prone to occasional mistakes though. I would say yeah go for it but a) Good LB's are hard to find, b) Gibbs is getting injured too much atm and c) Clichy is one of the few completely loyal players left and has been at the club the longest.

I don't noo. I love Clichy, he has gone downhill past few seasons but I like him. Gibbs could fit into LB nicely if his injuries pissed off.
Id love Benzema though.

Assuming this was true and that his wages and the fee in general was acceptable it would be silly if Arsenal rejected this.

Good strikers are easier to come by than a good left back. I don't believe this to be true anyway.

clichy not really better than marcelo plus arbeloa can play leftback so is bad deal for real madrid

if they get a compeltely superior leftback like ashley cole example then is worth it but not for someone whos not better

I'd take it. Benzema is a high quality striker and he's still getting better.

I think Clichy is hitting a peak and it's not perhaps as high as people hoped. Arsenal have Gibbs who is possibly a bigger talent than Clichy....so I'd say it's a good deal.

I'd grab this deal with both hands and feet tbh. Benzema just turned 23/24 today, he's extremely talented and still very young. Benzema hasn't the ground running for Real, he should have joined United instead, but if this deal goes through I'd be over the moon. I'm not suprised it's for Clichy as Real have been after him for some time now, Gibbs is ready take that number 1 spot at left back although I would be worried with his injury problems.
