Roy Hodgson would be the greatest manager in Poland's history. I never thought "Greatest Manager" and "Roy Hodgson" would go in the same sentence. But what d'ya know?

    Poland is Earth's council estate.

Pfft. Smuda >>>> Hogdson in every way honestly.

But for the most part, Polish managers/coaches are shit. But that's got nothing to do with anything.

Hodgson is a Premier League manager, and has had success with Fulham, regardless of how shit he or Liverpool (or both) are.

I found it a fair comparison, and responded to it.

Just the best example. Plus most Arsenal fans admit their atmosphere is crap.

But it's a pretty league-wise thing. Arsenal are not alone.

    Plus I don't support Arsenal.

No it isn't. You could argue that with 3 clubs in England. Could also argue it with every other huge corporate club world wide.

Dunno, not going to look through youtube videos of home fans of various clubs.

What are we arguing about though? The poor atmosphere of these clubs in general? or if Lech's atmosphere are better than these clubs or not?

I agree that the Championship and Bundesliga have a better atmosphere. Apart from Poznan, I know no fans in Poland so can't comment. Don't agree with Italy though, an aggressive atmosphere doesn't mean a better atmosphere.

Actually, don't agree with most of the Championship, certainly away from home. Prem teams were far better at travelling away than the Championship teams we experience now.

There's a bill being put forward for standing to be allowed back in English Football. If it returns, atmospheres will improve.

Lech fans are moderate for Poland.

There are just much more of them (typical seasonal supporters, Lech does well = Bunch of them attend games Rolling Eyes ) so they seem louder.

Did you see Legia vs Arsenal preseason friendly? Legia fans were SCREAMING nonstop for 90 minutes.

Wisla fans are pretty chaotic, Ruch and Gornik fans are insane as well, ESPECIALLY DURING DERBY's. Most intense atmosphere in Europe when Ruch and Gornik play eachother. (or was anyway, now they are both midtable clubs rather than best of Poland and competing in Europe like back in Poland's golden age)

Korona Kielce, Widzew Lodz, LKS Lodz fans are pretty hardcore as well.

Italy doesn't have an aggressive atmosphere. Only the sections with the ultra's are, as well as some chants. For the most part they are there singing for most of the game.

Away support is better in the Premier League, it is true. Because the true fans of these clubs go to away games.

Suppose the atmosphere in Poland is good then, but I imagine it's poor at bottom-of-the-table clubs similar to Wigan. Seriously, their atmosphere is shocking (should've included them to be fair). No chanting at all, only when the guys at the front start blowing whistles and waving round those clicky things. Feels so incredibly Americanised Neutral

From what I've noticed, in Italy it's only really the ultras that do actually sing that much.

Yeah that's true, away support in the Premier League is arguably the best in the world. Needs Leeds back though Wink

In Polish top division, seeing as Poland is a large country with many cities, and the league holds only 16 teams, there are no teams on the equivalent to Wigan. All the teams would be "Mid Table" if Polish league had say 20 teams.

But in the second division, the atmosphere in the bottom second division sides aren't exactly bad. They yell the whole game. More comparable to Italy with it's ultra's. (except they aren't really ultra's(save the small portion of skinheads), just fanatical.)

On what steaming pile of illogical nonsense are you basing the conclusion that Poznan would "match" Liverpool? Poznan is 11th in a 16 team Polish league while Liverpool (in one of its worst seasons in a long time) is 9th in the 20 team Premiership and cruised through the group stages of Europa. Surely, you agree that the Polish league is not as tough as the Premiership, right? At least show some sanity on that point.

Amazing. You're still sticking with this "I don't support Arsenal" line? You don't support Arsenal. You just root for them, want them to win and refer to them as "we" and "us." As I've pointed out before, that's akin to a flaming homo saying "I'm not gay, I just kiss penises and bugger dudes in the cornhole." Rolling Eyes

Lech Poznan were champions of Poland last season.

They had a rough start to the season, yes, but their manager has been sacked for Bakero (Who is a far superior manager than Zielinski. Probably best coaching in Poland.)

Lech as a team is still IMO one step above all others ATM in Poland. They will be back to the top 5 when the season restarts in Spring, and possibly run away as champions for all I know.

It's funny, you must've thought you got me there. Razz

Anyway, Lech beat Man City, Juventus and tied the other leg with Juve. I rate Manchester City much higher as a team than Liverpool, plus Liverpool has flopped soo many times against 'smaller' clubs lately, that I would not be surprised if Lech beat Liverpool convincingly.

Polish teams are not utter shit. Our best teams are comparable to lower-mid table EPL sides, and our mid table sides comparable to bottom table EPL and top half Championship sides. Atleast I think in terms of player quality they are. (Our 3rd world coaching makes us suffer alot when playing abroad, but that is different from what I am talking about)

Nah, I didn't think I "got you" there. The absurdity of the claim kinda spoke for itself. Poznan might be able to hang with Man City or Liverpool in a one-off, maybe even in a home-away tie. But over the course of a long season, not a chance. They'd finish below both of them in the table every time. And let's keep in mind that Liverpool is in a depressionary blip in the team's overall historical trajectory. In ordinary times, this wouldn't even be the subject of a debate outside of Special Ed classrooms.

Lech has got a very good draw.

Braga for the 16, and one of Liverpool/Sparta for Quarters.

If Lech continues with their good form, I can definitely see them beating all these teams. Semi's anyone?
