Sotirios Kyrgiakos is expected to start for Liverpool against Aston Villa on Monday because Jamie Carragher is sidelined after shoulder surgery.
Captain Steven Gerrard is believed to be another week away from returning from the hamstring injury he sustained on England duty last month.
Aston Villa are without Ashley Young, who serves a one-match ban for accumulating five bookings this season.
Midfielder Barry Bannan is a doubt with a groin problem.
Liverpool
Doubtful: Gerrard (hamstring)
Injured: Agger (calf), Carragher (shoulder), Spearing (ankle)
Aston Villa
Suspended: A Young (one match)
Doubtful: Bannan (groin), Beye (ankle)
Injured/unavailable: Albrighton (appendicitis), Delph, Heskey, Petrov & Reo-Coker (all knee), Sidwell (Achilles), Weimann (ankle)
A lot of injuries for Villa, along with Young being suspended. So I'll be very surprised if we don't win this one. As long as we play like we did against Spurs and really go at them, we should win comfortably. But then again, we're Liverpool.
This is the Liverpool team that has been floating around, may not be true, but it probably is.
Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Kuyt, Lucas, Meireles, Maxi, Torres, Ngog
Subs: Hansen, Kelly, Aurelio, Shelvey, Poulsen, Babel, Eccleston
No Joe Cole. Interesting.
All talk about the match, predictions or the usual wum-ery from opposition fans goes into this thread here.
I predict at least 3-0, or a 3-1. To Liverpool.
