Aston Villa vs Liverpool

Won't be able to see this game, sadly. I will be up in Norwich visiting some of the other half's family. (Missed the 2nd game of last season for the exact same reason, which was the 2-2 draw with City). It appears this will be a yearly thing

Just my luck that both games are televised ones. It wouldn't be so bad missing a game that I'd have had to watch on a stream.

Anyway:

Not got high hopes for this one considering that Aston Villa beat Arsenal and got narrowly/unfairly beaten by Chelsea. Their confidence will be high, I think and I fear that they'll be too much for us, particularly Benteke.

I miss the good old times where going into games like Aston Villa or Sunderland consisted of full confidence of coming away with a win. Nowadays it seems like every team in the League could potentially cause an upset.

I'll be ambitious and say we'll draw this one.

Easy win for Liverpool. These type of midtable clashes never produce any upsets or controversies. Aston Villa vs Chelsea/Arsenal is midtable vs toptable, so Aston Villa have the classic underdog effect. But against Liverpool it will be a level playing field, so I expect the narrowly superior team to come out on top.

Well, there is always a sense of doubt, games can go either way, but I think Liverpool could snatch the win.

Benteke will absolutely destroy Liverpool. 3:1 Villa.

I don't think at here has ever been a more exciting matchup for the neutrals than KoLAD vs Bantereke.

The referee was terrible. Villa could have had 2 penalties and IMO Agger should have been sent off.

We deserved that win, fuck off trying to play it down.

Just caught the highlights. Fucking Mignolet, man. He's single handedly saved us 4 points already. That Benteke volley, which Mignolet stopped with cat-like reflexes is exactly the kind of shot we'd gotten used to seeing Reina watch the ball fly past him and into the net.

He's making a huge difference already.
