When I heard England got only 2 bids for the world cup by my freinds, I laughed and said "nice try but if your gona pull my leg atleast make it beleivable"

What im really pissed of about is now we are going to have 2 shit world cups in a row I dont see how Russia can make a world cup half as good as South africa (who did a real shit job no offense). If it was Spain/Portugal with England in second place then fair enough, but Russia seriously ?

Only good news is that Qatar got 2022, in my lifetime hopefully I can attend that world cup I think Qatar was the best option for 2022 and I have high expectations. Hopefully im not let down Smile

The outrage is Russia getting it.

Russia had a strong bid, lets not forget that. Before the announcement i thought we'd narrowly win over Russia, i'm still shocked at how England had received the lowest amount of votes, we had the strongest bid.

Maybe Roman Abramovich had something to do with Russia winning it so easily. England got 2 votes for 2018 - Page 4 214775

South Africa did a great job at the World Cup hosting this year. It's just a shame that the Jabulani was a peice of shit and most of the football on display was very poor. Neutral

Regardless of whether the bid was good enough or not, the country as a whole should not be hosting a World Cup. It goes against everything that FIFA stands for in terms of stamping out violence, racism etc.

Money talks in football, and sadly, it's been proven again today.

Okay, I'm not against Quatar hosting it, I was pissed off back then. But I just find it a bit strange that a country as small as that (half the size of Wales, a population smaller than many cities in England...) has won the WC 2022 bid, added in America and Australia could be seen as much more "suitable". But hey, whatever, good look to them, I don't think they will fail, but it's a 4th consecative risk taken by FIFA in the place they're holding a World Cup- hopefully it's less of a risk than Russia- that's the main joke here.

TBH, Russia had a good chance at winning it as well from the onset. I agree England had the better bid, but shit happens.

Ah well. Even if you don't get tickets to the games it would of been easy enough to get cheap flights and hotels and be there for the atmosphere and sun

Yeah, I meant the heat more for the players tbh Laughing

As soon as Abramovich turned up and flashed his money around Zurich i knew we were in danger, FIFA aren't bothered about the bid itself. After all, they are a bunch of money grabbing jews. Neutral

bollocks. the South African World Cup was shambolic. i'm can only compare it to Germany 2006 and the Euro's in England and Portugal, but it was behind all of those by some distance!

my opinion is based on first hand experience, not having seen it on TV. i would imagine that the 2002, 1998, 1994 & 1990 World Cups were all better organised tournaments also but i have no reference point!

Just watched Englands bid video on the BBC website and its fucking shit. It doesnt show you any stadiums that would be used or ay infrastructure in place to sway peoples votes. Terrible bid video. The difference between Englands video and Qatars is massive.

The people who made that should be shot. Just taking 30 seconds highlights out of Premier League games isnt a bid video and shows nothing about what is in England, what they have already to cope with a WC and what else will come its way if the WC bid is successful

Agreed, it's far better than any others, our presentation was spot on in my opinion, it showed the passion for the game, the popularity of the English game world-wide and was inspirational.

Qatar's was dull tbh, all it did was show computer generated images of a few stadiums.
