UEFA Charge Mourinho & 4 Players

UEFA has charged Jose Mourinho with improper conduct following the controversial second yellow cards earned by Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos in Real Madrid's 4-0 victory at Ajax.

Alonso and Ramos - as well as goalkeepers Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek - have also been charged.

A statement read: "UEFA has confirmed that a disciplinary case has been opened against Real Madrid for the improper conduct of coach Jose Mourinho and players Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek during the UEFA Champions League Group G match against AFC Ajax in Amsterdam on Tuesday."

It has been suggested that, after the result was secure in Amsterdam, Alonso and Ramos deliberately sought second bookings by timewasting in order to serve their suspensions in the final group game - a dead rubber against Auxerre - and clear their slates for the knockout rounds. Pictures appear to show Mourinho passing on instructions to the duo via Dudek and Casillas.

UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body will consider the case on November 30.

They are being charged for improper conduct because the players were intentionally wasting time to get sent off and Mourinho is passing on such instructions.

They're being investigated because of the bookings, not just because of the time wasting- which is what you said in the OP.

If Dudek gets banned, then also will Casillas. Real will have to play with their third choice keeper. I think people would care then.
