2015/16 UEFA Champions League
Why are English clubs so shit? Is there a unified explanation?

Maybe it's the style of play that English teams are used to. Is there any other league where teams play so erratically?

The way we lose games/goals in the Champions League isn't unique in my opinion. We do the same things against domestic teams.

I was told some "Spanish guy" on BT sport said that English teams attack too much and don't really adjust tactically for European games, Glenn Hoddle quickly dispelled this though by pointing out that the premier league is full of foreign players. The Zlatan wrote:Maybe it's the style of play that English teams are used to. Mata's assist for Smalling's goal is one of the greatest things I've ever seen on a football pitch.

It wasn't a hit, it was a sublimely crafted lofted flick. Football porn.
It's good to see some English clubs finally doing something to protect the coefficient instead of just leeching off other teams hard work and taking the CL money without ever contributing.

It was a fluke. I would have been more impressed if he had less time and fewer potential targets.

It's going amazing, you cunt
How can anyone say Moyes is better than van Gaal. A piss easy group and you fucked it up after being so cocky. At least we have Bayern and have been resigned to the Europa League since match day 2.

Re: 2015/16 UEFA Champions League
I don't think I was being that cocky, I was just pleased that an English team finally won.
Van Gaal has plummeted in my estimation, I do want him out at the end of the season, but it's still preposterous to say that the guy who has just been sacked from Real Sociedad is better than him. Only a moron would think that.

Ronaldo does nothing all game but as soon as he scores that penalty guys on BT Sport can wait to call him a big game player
Atletico were unlucky, certainly the best side during the 120minutes. I remember about 18 months ago on here we were having a discussion about whether Simeone was the best manager in the world, I think that's pretty indisputable now.

I think I remember that conversation. I believe ResurrectionRooney said that Mourinho deserved manager of the year that year because he won the Premier League with Chelsea.Keyser Söze wrote:Ronaldo does nothing all game but as soon as he scores that penalty guys on BT Sport can wait to call him a big game player

Atletico's football was of a much higher quality than I usually see from them today, presumably because they went behind so early. Their one-touch football in tight spaces at the back is majestic. It was just a shame that the high profile attackers-Bale, Ronaldo, Griezmann-let their teams down. Carrasco was probably the best player on the pitch.
