Yeah. Quetzal is pretty massive in the Chicano Rock world.

LA (especially the Eastside) loves churning out politically conscience Chicano Rock/"Latin" bands like these; Los Lobos, La Santa Cecilia, Chicano Batman, Ozomatli, Quinto Sol (not to be confused with Kinto Sol) just to name a few big ones/rising in popularity.

That's cool that celebrities bother to those reddit things. The Red Hot Chili Peppers wrote a song about buying heroin under a bridge from a Mexican guy. And I'm a Mexican guy who once crossed a bridge so I feel like I have strong connection with band, stronger connection than most at least.
