I think what Glen was trying to say was that if you have a decent phone by today's standards, the features of the higher-end phones are unnecessary.
Something like the S2 that HendoChip mentioned he had in the other thread is more than adequate.

Have you ever used an old phone? It's a massive pain in the arse, all apps, all updates, they're optimised for higher processor speeds, if your phone can't keep up with it it's like watching a slideshow. The S2 is a relic.

Amazingly enough, some people don't care about having the latest updates or apps. The S2 is fit for use.

No i haven't but i would assume the main default apps (messaging/music/camera/browser) still work well enough.
