Will probably go through them again at Christmas. Probably close to 20 views of each film now.Zzonked wrote:I've actually been watching bits of it again this past week.
I also sat through the first Hobbit film for the first time. It's just not the same.
What were you doing at 100mph, mf?

I just wanted to see how fast my car could go. Got to 100 pretty easy.
The Hobbit wasn't the worst film ever, it's just nowhere near as good as LotR. It's more childish, a bit samey and the characters feel far more shallow. All the dwarves are so meh. The party dynamic isn't anywhere near the fellowship. Thorin Oakenshield is too serious, he's obviously the Aaragon of the team but he just seems like a dick. Really dislike James Nesbitt too so seeing his face a lot is annoying.

I find it a lot more enjoyable when I don't compare it to LOTR. The book itself isn't really comparable, so the movie shouldn't be either. All your criticisms apply to the book, not just the movie.Zzonked wrote:I just wanted to see how fast my car could go. Got to 100 pretty easy.

Not sure if that link will work for you guys but it's a really interesting story. Like something straight out of HBO.

Yeah it's not a bad movie, it's just nowhere near the same level.

I shouldn't have laughed at Ronaldinho earlier this week.
4 minutes into today's match Salcido pull's a Suarez, gets a red card, and Ronaldinho scores his first goal in Mexican football via penalty. :'(

It's unfortunate that all the decent broadsheets in the UK charge a subscription

The Guardian doesn't, and the Telegraph is well worth the subscription fee, plus you don't really need to pay it if you use incognito mode. I do pay it because I believe in paying for good journalism. The Times is a total piss take mind.

100 pounds a year for The Telegraph. I suppose it's not terrible when it's a daily newspaper and you pay something similar for an uninspiring weekly publication like The Economist.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Sean wrote:It's unfortunate that all the decent broadsheets in the UK charge a subscription

There is no point in reading the news, just ask other people what's going on (srs).

I wonder what the ceiling/limit for this meme is. Some are absolutely dreadful, but I really liked a few (the Willy Wonka one especially).Jordi wrote:
