FIFA 15 trailer looks amazing. Love the addition of kits getting dirty and marks on the pitch.
Just look at this picture, damn it.
Dat grass.
And the grass with markings:
Oh lawd.

I was very very unimpressed with it on PS4.

Care to elaborate? I am interested in your views on the game.
A real, real sore point for me, is how long it takes your player to get the ball for a throw in, sometimes. My word, it is awful. Especially when there's another ball on the pitch and you have to wait for it to be kicked out but the AI.

I only played it for a couple of hours at a mate's, but it seemed very very similar to the 360 version apart from a couple of gimmicks. The gameplay felt almost exactly the same, there was more of a difference between 13 and 14 on 360 than between the two different versions of 14 despite one being on a far more advance console.
The throw in thing has always been a bit of a daft gimmick, they should never have included it until they implemented it better.

There's really no difference in the gameplay. Wouldn't really expect it seeing as it was released not that long after the PS3 version. FIFA 15 should be a big improvement though.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Scott_LFC wrote:Care to elaborate? I am interested in your views on the game.

That's weird, because for me:
I got FIFA 14 for the PS3 in October, and played that a lot until I got the PS4, which was like, in March or April (so roughly 6-7 months of FIFA 14 on PS3) and as soon as I started playing my first game of FIFA on the PS4, it was a big change for me. The players seem to move different, the pace was a bit slower and things were harder to do, to begin with. The difference actually surprised me, which is why I'm surprised you thought the game-play was more or less the same. I don't imagine going from a 360 FIFA 14 to a PS4 FIFA 14 would be any different from going from a PS3 FIFA 14 to a PS4 FIFA 14.
Quite a few things annoy me about the game though, as well as the throw-in gimmick.
1. People who do the kick-off goal. I know how to stop it now, but occasionally I forget and thus am unprepared.
2. The way the GK just leaves a rolling ball, letting it go out of play, when it would make far more sense to just go and pick it up.
3. The way sliding tackles almost always result in the ball going to another one of their players.
4. Replays. People who watch the intro and all their goals, especially average goals, but I know this is just a wind-up tactic to try and throw you off your game.
5. The fact you can't quit before the 5 minute mark without getting a loss anymore. Sometimes they match me up with someone with shit connection and I am forced to play.
6. The fact that so many GK saves are rebounded straight to the feet or head of a player on the opposition's team, to give them a simple tap in.
I'm sure there's a few more. That's just off the top of my head.
ALSO
Can someone tell me what the correct button is to use, to skip replays? Is it X? Because it annoys the fuck out of me when I am tapping X to skip a replay of a missed shot, and then when it comes to my goal-kick, that tapping of X has now caused him to pass it straight to their striker. Happens on free-kicks and corners as well. Fucking replays.

I noticed small differences, but it still played pretty much the same. I was beating a guy who'd had it for a week pretty comfortably as soon as I started on it, that's something that would never happen on a new version of FIFA. I expected to get my arse handed to me early on but it felt like I was playing the same game. It put me off buying one.
On 5, I struggled with this on 360 for ages until I found the mutual quit option. If you pause and go to the quit game option, then flick the right stick, you can offer a mutual quit to the opponent. If the connection's terrible they'll usually accept.

That barely has any games worth playing and almost none that are not coming out for PS3 as well. Or alternatively you can wait until 2015 when it's likely to have gone down in price and when a whole host of great games are released.

I'm really, really torn. It might just come down to price, and if they are equal, something arbitrary. What do you think?Keyser Söze wrote:Are you going to go with a PS4 then? You're currently an Xbox man, right?Glen Miller wrote:

I'm leaning towards more the PS4, the exclusives on it interest me more. Only Xbox ones I like are Dead Rising and Quantum Break, if they announced a new Gear Of War then my interest would be peaked.Glen Miller wrote:I'm really, really torn. Once they become fairly cheap I'll eventually get the other one. I enjoy buying a console a few years later for massive reduction on what it use to cost and playing all of the good exclusive games that I wouldn't originally have had a chance to play.
Wii U is looking pretty strong as well.
