Hi.

Holy crap, Frozen is the 5th highest grossing film of ALL TIME. It was good, but not freaking record-breaking good.

Does 300 dollars to fix a laptop charging/battery port seem excessive, or is it just me?   I was a bit suspicious that The Geek Squad team member at Best Buy ushered me immediately to the new laptops section of the store, but I have no idea with this sort of thing.

That does sound very expensive. I'm not sure what laptop you have exactly, but if it's one that connects the charging port to the circuit board using female leads/connector sockets then they cost about £1.50-5. It's extremely easy to remove the old charging port and basically plug in the new one so labour costs shouldn't be too high, not enough to warrant $300. If it's a circuit board that requires the old charging port to be unsoldered and then solder the new one then it will probably be will be more expensive, don't know how much more but my opinion is it shouldn't be $300.

That's what I figured.  I'll get a second opinion from my university's IT department.

You probably know that places like Best Buy will always charge a massive mark-up. Your local Indian/Pakistani/Somali computer repair store should do it cheaper.
