Di Canio being awful was so obvious it irritated me that anyone thought anything otherwise. He spent a ton of money and brought in some pretty average players, plus he had that spasticated 'durr I'm a fascist' management style. The fact that he's a top lad and beat Newcastle once saved him so much deserved criticism.

Flew through a lot of Breaking Bad episodes over the weekend. I'm already on episode 8 in season 2. Still loving it so far. Skyler is so annoying though.

Re: Chat Thread
I really enjoy the scenes in which both Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are acting together. Can be quite funny at times. When I started season 1, I had no idea that Jesse Pinkman was going to be a main character, so I was surprised, but at the same time, I think he's been utterly brilliant. Same with Walter, ofc. Great characters.

Another City fan that said this:
"It's the same with money. Spurs, PSG, Madrid, Monaco all splash out and you don't even hear a peep about how negative it is to football and disgraceful.
Most City games these days the commentators love to fit in something about how much our team cost or how much money we've had, get's on my nerves"
I wanted to completely rip it apart but I thought better of it.

I remember that thread was filled with incredibly indignant posts when almost every newspaper in England reported a fee that was "too high" for Fernandinho.Keyser Söze wrote:I saw that And his comment about Sky always making up lies about them.

Re: Chat Thread
That thread was embarrassing, City fans were just dismissing the credibility of BBC and SKY just because they didn't want to believe their club paid £30+million for a 30 year oldMoriarty wrote:Emilempenza, Cambridge University graduate and EA forum moderator who is convinced everybody is out to get Manchester City.Scott M wrote:Who's that?I remember that thread was filled with incredibly indignant posts when almost every newspaper in England reported a fee that was "too high" for Fernandinho.Keyser Söze wrote:I saw that And his comment about Sky always making up lies about them.

Re: Chat Thread
The article he was dismissing in that post wasn't even directly attacking them, it was more just attacking the poor state of the England national team. If anything, it was praising the quality of City's foreign players.

Re: Chat Thread
Fernandinho is 28.
No one really talks about City's spending being negative, I've heard Monaco and PSG get criticism though so I can only assume that it happens more in the early days of big spending. Chelsea don't get that much stick either. The 'This City team cost £300m and it was beaten by a team that cost £30m 1like = 1respect" does happen all the time though and is quite tedious.

Think it would be different if City didn't end up winning the title. The jab about money is a pretty poor attempt for an argument.

Re: Chat Thread
I don't hear many people talk about City's spending anymore. They raised the bar a few years ago and everyone's had to come up to their level so its not really that much of an issue since that's just the current value of quality players. With the supposed wealth of City's owners they should be actually spending more, I mean even we've spent more on a single player than they have.
