    Why do World Cup referees get sent to Championship games? 894246 Not complaining but he's supposed to be one of the best referees in the country.

    There's a rotation system in England and every week one of the Premiership referees is moved to a Championship game.

    This is a rotation system but sometimes if a referee makes a bad call in the premier league it can be used as punishment. I am fairly sure that the pay for these matches are less than in the premier league.
