After this 25 man squad rule was brought in a few managers were fined for fielding weakened teams, for example Wolves against Manchester United I believe when they had an easier game on the weekend.
My question is why are they fined? The FA states that you should be always under the obligation to field your strongest team possible.
Yet they have a rule where you select a squad of 25 players, surely a manager chooses his 25 strongest players, right? So why are they punished if they choose who to play? They've picked a squad so shouldn't be questioned over their choices.
The 'best squad' is a bit dubious too, what if that player or players aren't performing? The 'strongest' team is tired or he is giving a youth team a game at the end of the season.
It seems if you win this match nothing is said, yet if you lose questions are raised.
