Re: Real Oviedo
I've only just noticed this thread. Crump is pretty much spot on and comes across really well so well done to him, but what astounded me was Jela. I wouldn't advise anybody to take any information from him. Ever. I can only assume he's produced this nonsense with the intention of trying to shape it around his misguided belief that the holding company of Rangers was liquidated, not the Club.
No football fan buys shares in a holding company. Let's get that out of the way first. A holding company generally does not produce anything and is just a vehicle to control a wider range of activities within a portfolio of other companies.
If you bought shares in the holding company, it was either Murray International Holdings if this was supposed to happen under Murray, or Wavetower Limited under Craig Whyte. With that said, why would any supporter want to buy shares in a holding company, and not the Club?
Rangers holding company at the time of liquidation was Wavetower Limited, renamed to The Rangers FC Group Limited. This is not what you bought shares in.
You bought shares in The Rangers Football Club PLC, which is being liquidated.
So just to be sure here, are you saying you bought shares in a holding company, either Murray International Holdings, or Wavetower Limited, instead of The Rangers Football Club PLC?
Somebody quote me please.

If the holding company goes bust, you'll lose everything.
You're getting a share in their holding company, not the club.
I had a share in the Rangers holding company, it liquidated and now all I've got is a worthless piece of paper in a frame.

At the time, the club and its parent company Murray International Holdings were subject to an investigation from HMRC into a tax issue, to do with payments made into offshore bank accounts.
Craig Whyte delays publication of Rangers holding company accounts.

Re: Real Oviedo
Yeah, I thought that, Maestro.
A holding company is the overhead of say the owners empire if we want to be basic.
Stan Kroenke's holding company is Kroenke Sports Enterprises, which is his 'empire'.
That would essentially be buying shares in the owners company.

Thanks to Twitter people from many different parts of the world are supporting us.
Michu, Mata and Cazorla started in our club.
Adrián, Atlètico de Madrid striker started here too. (Arsenal wants him for next season)
They all are buying shares, and hopefully Formula1 driver Fernando Alonso joins too, since he is from Oviedo as well.
With the contributions from everybody, we feel more optimistic now that we can get the minimum needed.
It is very likely that you won´t get any profit from the shares, at least in the short term, so if anyone is in as an investment, it is better to save it for another thing hehe
By the way, Stan Collymore did play for us as well, at least for a couple of games, but that is another story...
So, yes, big thanks to everybody in here!
Not sure if legit Spaniard

Our stadium in the background:
The campaign continues doing well, we hope that portuguese explayers Abel Xavier and Paulo Bento can help us as well, they are history of our team, too.
There was a member in here from New Zeland who bought a share, I would show him/her that is included in the virtual map of the shareholders from different parts of the world but I am not allowed to post links...

Well, the richest man in the world just became majority shareholder of Real Oviedo.

You have to email them with your address and some proof of purchase and they'll send you a certificate, I think.
