Re: Assassin's Creed 3
I miss the little missions from the first where you'd learn things about your target, guard patrols etc. Made the assassinations feel like a big event then. The missions got boring and repetitive but there was definitely something there but they just took it out.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
I completely agree. For all it's repetitive missions, it then had the most variety in how you want to kill your target. I loved the one where you're at an acquittal and then I just jumped out from the crowd and killed that Templar, was awesome. Oh yeah, Desmond's a bad ass in this one..A shame they didn't give him enough missions but I really enjoyed them.

The first one was a real flawed gem, got it in the bundle it came with my xbox, Assassins Creed and Halo 3.Kuled wrote:I completely agree. To you maybe
It's was a nominee for all of them (except IGN who are COD cunts) and came pretty close to getting it in all of them.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
Hah like the PS blog awards mean anything.
I think for most of the big sites, AC3 was hardly in the convo for game of the year.
I checked out gamespot just now and it's not mentioned once in these 4 categories:

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
Well a lot of people enjoyed it and I don't think people actually give a shit what reviewers say since they're so picky these days, it's nice to see them get an award, that's it. I didn't want this to be such a big deal.

The Walking Dead has been sweeping a lot of GOTY awards anyway so Saul Goodman.

It was good but not best game of the year.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
I thought TWD was a good game. Good, but not GOTY material imo (maybe because I'm getting sick of Zombies, btw I'm not saying AC should have, I'm saying there were better titles than TWD to win GOTY)Mouse wrote:The Walking Dead has been sweeping a lot of GOTY awards anyway so Saul Goodman.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
Finished the game
Masterpiece.
Now I can see what the fuss with Dishonoured is about.
- Spoiler:
- Both plotlines sank the game for me, as they 'tied things up'. Hayden falling for a lame trick...his death was a bit of an anticlimax..., Lee inexplicably being reluctant to do anything but die, Connor just came off as a douche. Never had any empathy for him throughout the game. Nothing more than a mindless firecracker.
As for Desmond's: getting told he could make two earth shattering choices....then robbing me of the chance and choosing the shit one. Juno's a maniac, and the starting over option sounded fab.
7/10 for me, was a 9 until it gave me a final three hours of sour notes. Besides the story, the cities, frontier and homestead were visually fantastic and great to interact with. Liked how I upgraded the homesteaded gradually into a thriving community.
Masterpiece.

Good day to finish the game
- Spoiler:
- I agree with Lee's ending, in the game it felt meh, in the novel it says he was tired, I wish they made it more clearer in the game

- Spoiler:
- “The people chose nothing. It was done by a group of privileged cowards
seeking only to enrich themselves. They convened in private and made a
decision that would benefit them. Oh, they might have dressed it up with
pretty words but that does not make it true. The only difference,
Connor — the only difference between myself and those you aid — is that I
do not feign affection.”

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
I'd say this game is even better looking than Far Cry 3. That game wasn't diverse enough to be compared with Skyrim, I thought. Tropical forests and water takes up like 99%. AC3's Homestead is a marvel. Not sure if I prefered it developed or undeveloped though.

I thought this should've won best graphics, my friend has a good PC for games and he showed me AC3 on it, was gorgeous. I thought it's already beautiful on consoles but on PC it was a different story.
I'm playing this again and I finally understood how convoy's work

I never did understand that. Was always a poor soul, just ended up getting a big axe, all I needed really.
Can you actually use canoes whatsists in this game?

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
No
And after this:
I was very disappointed it wasn't there.
And I'm making great profits from convoys, bear skins sell for £700 each. My Aquila is becoming a beast.
Jay, what do you mean? If it's about the people, it becomes a wonderful community where they're all friends (this is where I thought Connor's character was nice)
Had a great ending too.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
The southern area becomes quite a populated place, fair few buildings and muddied footprints on the roads. Thought that was a nice touch in the game.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
Witcher is Far Cry's hunting the same as this, I didn't like QTE's for every predator in this.
