Oh right, i'd say it was definately better than the kindle (You can get a Kindle app on iPad anyway)
Dunno about the nexus, i'd say it was better than that. You know what you're getting with apple devices, they're good, but they'll make an upgrade 6 months later, but if you don't really care about that, then i'd go for it

The nexus is the perfect size, I thought the mini would also be 7 inches but it's closer to 8. I'd probably go for the Nexus but I do like iOS...
