Of course, this is something to do with Celtic because I got it from a Rangers forum (where it turn they got it from a celtic forum), but celtic claimed that the official attendance at their opening league match of 2012-2013 to unfurl their SPL title against Aberdeen at celtic park was: 48,251. The actual official attendance was: 41,250.

Yes, people will claim that I'm just moaning about it because it's celtic or whatever. Well actually, I was going to just make up teams or something, just to make the point. But then obviously, I need something to back up my point.

There's no point in posting the second part of it, as it'd be pretty much empty after scribbling out peoples names etc.

So yeah, I was just wondering if you knew it was an offence? What the implications may be, are not known as of yet.

And just to reiterate, if you're going to say oh bitter, posting about celtic, quite frankly I couldn't care.

My point was more, that teams can't just bump up their attendances to make it look good. It's an offence under the Freedom of Information act as the letter states.

Loads of teams count season tickets into their attendance I think, even if a season ticket holder hasn't turned up for a game

Surely 7,000 season ticket holders wouldn't just not turn up for the opening league game of the season at home, to unfurl the title flag.

Health and safety regulations, the letter states that.

Teams have to notify the police the evening before the game, the amount of staffing (police numbers) they need to send to the game. So, by claiming that there were so many more fans then there actually were, it's basically saying that the police understaffed the game, which is against health and safety. But actually, the game would have been overstaffed.

Read the post. I couldn't care less if it was west brom. I was asking the question, did you know it was illegal to knowingly lie about your attendances?

Rangers had to turn fans away vs East Stirling because the club told the police there would be 25,000 at the game. Over 25,000 queued before the game to get a ticket, which would have taken it over capacity. There weren't anywhere near enough staff for that. Some more were sent (the match was delayed 20 minutes) and they managed to allow 38,160 into the match in total. The rest had to be sent home. If they were allowed in, it'd have been breaking health and safety regulations.

thats about underestimating the attendance surely? Its not dangerous to have less people in the stadium than you think there is

It's possible. Loads of people are still on their holidays in early August. Even the Camp Nou had about 25,000 empty seats when Barcelona played Real Sociedad and I'm sure the season ticket holders counted towards the attendance..

It is if you have overstaffed the police when they could be doing better things with their time. If they're not required because of the size of the attendance, then you're wasting police time.

Correct. But only because the police requested it. So the club put an incorrect "official attendance" on their official website. And told all the news outlets an incorrect attendance. Had a celtic fan not posted on their website and got a hold of the letter, it would never have been known.

My point is the question in the title, nothing else. I of course had to provide proof or it would have been a pointless claim.

so if the police know the real attendance, why does anyone else give a fuck what attendance they have? Only you because that's all rangers can compete with Celtic on now, ever since you reformed you haven't shut up about attendances.

Now you see, this is the problem.

Anything that Rangers do well, it always comes back to this. Yet, it never actually happened. Look on UEFA, The Scottish Football League etc and you'll see that we're still the same club.

This is the only post I'm going to make on this as everybody knows, it's the truth. No matter what articles come from newspapers etc etc, The SFL etc state the truth. Rangers are not called 'The Rangers Football Club', it's the holding company that is.

Rangers are still called 'Rangers Football Club'.

Some people just can't accept how big a club like ours is and therefore try to lie and make up some other excuses. If most PL teams don't sell out their stadium in the EPL, what chance would they have in the 3rd division?

Say whatever the fuck you like, typical jela lolol. No matter what, you'll never hide the truth about Rangers Football Club.

Jela, you're getting incredibly boring now. Virtually everyone of you posts is about Rangers or anti-Celtic. You occasionaly post stuff that isn't about rangers or anti-Celtic but it is hardly ever. When will you understand that Celtic fans are obviously going to react to you talking bad about the club they support? Stop trying to create arguments and then blame it on Maestro. You're the architect of most of the Rangers/Celtic arguments that go on.

God forbid Rangers play Celtic in the cup.

ok, i was actually going to say when you got relegated but i thought you would snap at me for that aswell. But your point is going slightly off at a tangent.

And fans are fans, rangers have enough of them to sell out even in the 3rd tier, im sure the demand for tickets has gone down. Man United would probably sell out if they played in league 1

We've sold more season tickets this season than we did last.

Really, I couldn't care less about any of this. I made a point, the thread question and yet again, somebody (trent) feels the need to somehow try and pin it on me being bitter or some other waffle. Long gone are the days before these sort of people turned up.

How the fuck is he getting annoyed at the term reformed? That' being very very nice about it.

If Jela had his way everyone would be lead into believing nothing at all happened to Rangers and they're playing in Division Three for a laugh.

If that's his reaction to someone saying Rangers were reformed imagine his reaction everytime someone tells it how it is and uses the word liquidation or new club.

Mine has gone from like £180 to £120, hardly an enormous difference. And yeah, there is a limit.
